The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture announced a new tourism strategy in the spring of 2019: Welcoming Visitors, Benefiting Locals, Working Together; A Strategic Framework for Tourism in British Columbia 2019-2021. Outlined in this strategy as a key priority and action item is supporting the growth of adventure tourism in BC.

Destination BC, a provincial Crown corporation, leads the marketing of British Columbia as a tourist destination and promotes the development and growth of the provincial tourism industry. Outlined in their 2020-2023 corporate strategy is the importance of the tourism industry, including adventure tourism, to the economic, social, cultural, and environmental well-being of British Columbia and British Columbians.
